Georgian Law enforcement CUBE project
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia is the law enforcement agency for the country. Its main goals are to reduce the number of offences, ensure a safe living environment for the public and protect human rights in compliance with democratic standards. In order to achieve these goals, the Ministry??s main tasks includes crime prevention, effective response thereto, provision of a quality service and close, trust-based cooperation with society. The Ministry carries out its duties in accordance with the law, democratic standards and ethical norms.
The Georgian National Forensics Bureau provides Georgian and foreign physical and legal entities with forensic services. It is the only independent forensic laboratory inGeorgia. The Bureau provides its services to the State structures as well as to the private sector, budgetary organizations, commercial and non-commercial establishments and physical persons. The Bureau has adopted ISO/IEC 17025:4 to demonstrate that it operates a quality system with technical competence.
On the 16th December, a delegation from Georgian Law enforcement comprising of representatives from the Georgian National Forensic Bureau and the Forensic Main Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, visited Launch Europe. Contact and correspondence relating to the visit had been on-going and the Georgian??s keen interest in the CUBE technology grew to the extent that they secured visas to travel to Launch-Europe. In Kerpen, the delegation was shown at first hand the capabilities of the CUBEs and familiarised with the technology through an in-depth presentation and the hands-on demonstration session. The Georgian delegation were impressed and recognising the need for their specialised units to be equipped with such innovative technology, orders were placed to buy the CUBEs. Included with the CUBE tablet and kit, is free introductory training for the end-user.
